Storytelling a new regional concept
Situation and Need
Business Turku is an expert organization that promotes growth in the Turku region. Its mission is to support companies located in Turku and surrounding municipalities by providing assistance and networks, thereby helping businesses establish themselves, grow, and internationalize.
Business Turku identified a need for a unified, cross-municipal regional approach that would better highlight the diverse strengths of the Turku region for entrepreneurs interested in the area. In addition, there was a desire for a narrative tool to support their own marketing efforts.
The goal was to create a dedicated section on Business Turku’s website for entrepreneurs, where the strengths of different areas within the Turku region are presented through storytelling in an engaging yet clear way.
Solution
The process facilitated by Scripted Oy involved Business Turku experts as well as entrepreneurs already operating in the region. At the beginning of the collaboration, Scripted Oy conducted several preliminary interviews with companies in the area. This was followed by a workshop.
Through exercises carried out in the workshop, the key attractiveness factors of each area were clarified, and based on these, the storytelling of the regions was developed through business and entrepreneurial narratives.
Scripted Oy helped articulate the strengths of each area and, based on this work, designed and produced a complete concept for Business Turku’s website and supporting marketing materials, including concept design and website copy.
As a result of the storytelling process, Business Turku gained support for branding the different areas of the Turku region and a cross-municipal tool for attracting new companies to the area. In addition, the storytelling approach was designed so that the narratives can also be used through different platforms and marketing.
