LEVOTON TUHKIMO
Feature film 2024
Original screenplay by Hanna Leivonniemi
Directed by Mari Rantasila
Production Yellow Film & TV
Levoton Tuhkimo is a movie about Pertti Nieminen (nowadays Pertti Neumann). It’s a story about a poor boy from Pori becoming the lead singer of a legendary Finnish band Dingo in 1980’s. It’s a story about being young, going after your dreams and accomplishing them, but also a story about childhood wounds and how they still can catch a person even when being an adult. Deep down the story is about self acceptance. Although the film is inspired by real life, it is still a work of fiction.
The film was awarded two prestigious Awards at the national Jussi Movie Awards in March 2025: Breakthrough role of the year (Saku Taittonen) and Makeup Design of the year (Nora Pippingsköld).

Movie in the media
”I thought I’d open up completely to screenwriter Hanna Leivonniemi and tell her from the start, how my life has been. We had several conversations and to be honest, we both went to the bathroom at times to wipe out the corners of our eyes.”
Pertti Neumann talks about the movie and his difficult relationship with his father.
